Brighton Designer - Maryam Nassirbegli

Colors, cuts, shapes, and quality of fine quality crystals spark ideas for designer Maryam Nassirbegli. You can also see how nature inspires her, particularly in her Crystal Rocks Collection.

Originally from?
I was born in Tehran, Iran. We are a Crimean Turk family.

How did you become a designer?
I knew from a very young age that my gift was my creativity. I knew that’s how I wanted to spend my days and years.

What’s your background?
I received my International Baccalaureate Diploma from Tehran International School (affiliated with the Geneva International School) and a B.F.A. degree from Syracuse University in Surface Pattern Design and Art History. I hold a certificate from GIA (Gemological Institute of Americia) and an M.A. in Spiritual Psychology from University of Santa Monica.

How did you come to Brighton?
20 years ago, my designs followed Brighton’s founder, Jerry, from department stores in Hong Kong and London to New York and led me to meet him and Brighton. I have participated in materializing the vision for Brighton jewelry from the early days.

Ever encounter a person wearing your designs?
An old friend found me after 20+ years. When she realized that I design for Brighton, she mentioned that she owned several of my designs!
