Brighton Celebrates National Creativity Day

Creativity is the engine that drives innovation and allows us to see the world in new ways. It gives us the opportunity to find new solutions to old problems and to create things that never existed before. In fact, creativity is so important that the United Nations has designated May 30th as World Creativity and Innovation Day, a time to celebrate the power of a creative mind and to encourage people everywhere to flex their creative muscles.

National Creativity Day may take place only once per year, but that doesn’t mean you should be limiting creativity to just one day. Continue reading this blog post to learn more about how we celebrate and share the creative spirit every day.

BRIGHTON'S CREATIVE DESIGNS

Our approach to creativity begins with our designers' creative vision and extends through the product development phase and beyond, even to the ways we present our products and how you decide to wear them. We're always seeking new ways to push the boundaries of design by bringing you accessories that not only look amazing but that also empower you to be more creative in your day-to-day styling.

Our recently-launched Versailles Collection includes removable pendants that allow you to style the chains on their own or layer them with other necklaces. Our Christo Collection features interchangeable and reversible leathers that empower you to transform your look in an instant.

In addition, all our charms encourage you to express your creativity when you build a charm bracelet or necklace that represents your personality and honors your life's most precious moments. If you're seeking a creative push, check out Guide to Building Charm Jewelry and be your own designer and stylist!

BRIGHTON’S CREATIVE THINK TANK

Transforming a creative vision into reality is no easy feat. It requires innovation, problem-solving skills, resources, and a support network.

We're one of the few design houses where our own designers sketch each creation by hand and then follow the product from concept to fruition. By gathering talented and like-minded individuals and encouraging our artists to express their inspired ideas, we’ve created a space where creativity can flourish. In fact, we’re home to some of the most creative minds in the accessories industry today.

Our designers are constantly pushing the boundaries of what's possible and brainstorming new ways to bring you the most fashionable and desirable products. From their innovative use of materials to their cutting-edge design perspectives, Brighton’s designers are always thinking outside the box and combining their imaginations with a willingness to experiment.

We’re always amazed by how each member of our creative designer team brings their unique points of view to constantly “wow” us with each new product and collection release. In the following paragraphs, we highlight how a few of our designers gain their creative inspiration, but you can also read more about each designer on our "Meet the Designers" page.

For the newly-launched Versailles Collection described above, Kim Cruser-Scott was inspired by the Versailles Palace in France, famous for its lavish gold ornamentation and historic architecture. She's also fascinated by the imaginary arc of the earth, mimicking its shape in her curved jewelry designs. These delicate pieces are often adorned with crystals and gemstones, resulting in an otherworldly appearance.

The beauty's in the details with Lisa Spayd-Sendre's designs, some of which are inspired by jewelry artisans from Taxco, Mexico. The creative talent behind a number of Brighton's signature looks, including the Contempo and London Groove Collections, Lisa's creativity blossoms from craft and tradition. One of her favorite annual projects is designing Brighton's popular Coastal Collections.

Designer Tom Clancy takes advantage of saturated colors and sultry hues to create passionate and emotive accessories. His playful and flirtatious designs practically beg to be worn on a daily basis. Growing up, Tom's childhood home was filled with music and contemporary art, and his mother was obsessed with fashion. The worlds of art and fashion collide in his "poppy" and colorful creations.

For those who prefer a more modern aesthetic, Brighton has plenty to offer. Carmen Radulescu's work is characterized by its clean lines and simple shapes. She often uses geometric forms to create her pieces, resulting in a sleek and stylish appearance. Carmen's love of classic European architecture and Moroccan artisan elements are hugely influential on her work, including her Ferrara Collection designs.
