THE CAUSE: Brighton's involvement in raising money toward the goal of finding a cure for breast cancer speaks to the core values of the company. When Brighton's owners Jerry and Terri Kohl started their business over 40 years ago, they resolved to have a different kind of company that would be run from the heart, by caring about and personally servicing the specialty stores that sold their products and the customers who purchased them. So it was only natural that, when they heard the stories of families struggling with the challenges of breast cancer, they wanted to help. Jerry, himself, had lost his own brother to cancer. As manufacturers, they decided it made sense to create jewelry that would raise money for charities.
Today, their unwavering commitment to this cause has created a ripple effect. Brighton donates $10 for each Power of Pink bracelet that is sold. The company donates 10% of the proceeds from sales of limited edition Power of Pink leather goods. Yet the initiative does not stop there. In conjunction with Power of Pink, Brighton’s 190 stores also organize events to raise additional donations to breast cancer organizations.
Since 2003, Brighton has donated over $6 million to breast cancer charities. We’re excited to share with you the story of how these donations are helping the women and families who are suffering from this disease, and helping to protect the lives of all women, which is so important…because as females we are all at risk.
