Breast-Friends
If life were logical, wouldn’t breast exams be held at a place like “Hooters?” Then nervous 40-year olds (like me) could have food and fun with their medical fare.

But Breast Cancer Awareness Month had already come – with no restaurant/mammogram venues. So I turned to my bosom buddies – Patti, Karen and Jessie. We were all scared. Living in different states, we couldn’t exactly “walk abreast” into the same mammogram center. But we did the next best thing, and all got our tests on the same day.

It wasn’t fun. But getting our results was a big relief. Except Karen’s…We worried so, but while waiting out Karen’s biopsy results, Jessie discovered the perfect retail therapy – it was Brighton’s Think Pink Too Bracelet, at The Hideout in the King of Prussia Mall.

Brighton and the specialty stores are working to raise over $1 million for breast cancer charities! So we each bought Think Pink bracelets in our towns – to show our support for Karen – and everyone’s else’s “breast friends.”

Today, we tease each other that those bracelets with the pink ribbon and heart charm seemed to work like a charm, too…because Karen’s biopsy came back totally okay!
