Time to Get Decked Out
As the holidays race toward
us on little elves feet (make that the Brighton-heeled feet of Patti, Jessie, Karyn
and yours truly), we have |
 |
an important question to ask. Why aren’t calendars for December
larger than the ones for other months? For holiday “afficionadas”
like us, it seems like a crazy oversight… doesn’t everyone know we
all have too many holiday events to list in those tiny white squares?
Once upon a time (never mind exactly how long ago) before our lives
got so busy, we complained about being “all dressed up with nowhere
to go.” The irony is that now we have tons of places to go, and not
much time to get dressed up in new holiday accessories. (By the way,
don’t you think “dressed to the nines” means that every woman should
have nine new accessories each holiday season? That’s what we were
thinking. After all, holidays are made for getting decked out…and
there’s no such thing as an overdressed holiday tree!)
Seriously, though, we didn’t go
overboard. We counted on our local Brighton retailers to
come |
 |
to the rescue. They saved our holi-days (and nights) with great
selections for all our occasions, casual and dressy, from now ‘til
the New Year. (And we bet they have everything on your holiday
dress-up wishlist, too!):
Patti will be a shining star at her
sorority lunch, carrying the Cher Croco Tote – the patent croco is glamorous, plus there’s room to tuck gifts
inside! Jessie’s wearing the Twilight Necklace to the holiday dance – its rhinestones could out dazzle diamonds! I
love vintage elegance, and the Charleston Hoop
Earrings with their cascade of pearls is sure to turn heads on
New Year’s Eve. |
Now that we’re set for parties and gatherings, it’s time to turn our
attention to getting our husbands to check out the list of what we’d
like to see under the tree. It’s fun buying what we know we love….but
it’s much more rewarding being “surprised” that the one we love has
wrapped up the perfect gift to touch our hearts.
Here’s wishing you happy, happy holidays! |
The grand essentials of
happiness
are: something to do, something to
love, and something to hope for.
