How Shamu (and Brighton) Saved Our Summer

You know how things can get in late July… at least at Jessie’s, Karyn’s, Patti’s and my houses – with school being out for so long, our kids were antsier than watermelons at a picnic, but classes wouldn’t start ‘til the “dog days” of August had passed – and, ironically, in that hottest month of the year– time seems to creep by at glacial speed.

It was that cool glacier image that started us thinking. Instead of focusing on summer heat and perspiration, we girlfriends decided we’d find inspiration to Brighton our vacation. So, during our weekly chat, we visited Brighton.com. Well, with one click, find it we did – The Brighton Around the World Contest was on the splash page!

By just traveling and taking pictures of ourselves wearing our Brighton pieces, we could win $200 in Brighton merchandise– so we couldn’t wait to try! And the “splash page” gave us the inspiration for our destination – Sea World in San Diego, California.

Soon, with our husbands playing “Mr. Mom,” we were off to our favorite retailers to “Brighton Up” for our journey:

The chic-est on the trip, Patti, chose the Galina Ziptop Shoulderbag (she knows the croc-trimmed pockets seriously rock) and – guess what? – she also saved $50 at the Brighton Handbag Trade-In. In sunny California, Karyn had it made in the shade in new Lucia Sunglasses sporting turquoise accents – perfect for our marine venue.
