Feed Our Friends

Family and Friends in Need!  We all have people in our lives that we are concerned about.  Whether it is a job loss or a bad mortgage loan, financial difficulties affect even the strongest families and relationships. Added to that, not having sufficient food to feed a family increases the burden and stress level for so many.

What is the American Heroes Jewelry?

Brighton’s designers have created a unique set of jewelry hand – cut and individually knotted, semi-precious stones available at Authorized Participating Retailers.  Brighton is donating $7.50 per necklace, $5.00 per bracelet and $2.50 per earring set purchased to Feed Our Friends Charity. Brighton Collectibles and many other Specialty Retailers will be matching Brighton’s donations and all funds will be directed to Feed Our Friends Charity.

Can you tell me what the stones are?

These stones are semi-precious beads, hand-cut and individually hand-knotted.  They make up a rainbow of colors, Dyed Quartz, Rutilated, Peridot, Labradorite, Blue Chalcedony and natural Citrine stones.

Is there a story behind the design of the jewelry?

The inspiration is rare antiquities, one of a kind treasure, a labor of love from human hands and hearts.

What is "Feed Our Friend Charity"?

This is a charity Brighton has established for gathering donations to be dispersed to the winners selected from the consumer nominations of charities.

Does it have to be a charity that fights hunger?

Yes, our concern is that a lot of our neighbors and friends are suffering, lost jobs and lost homes in our own communities.  We would like to help by making funds available that go directly to feeding people in our own neighborhoods.

How will the money be divided?

After all the nominations are received those qualifying organizations will be considered for funds.  It will be at the discretion of the Feed Our Friends panel who will be selecting the winners.

Who and how will the charities be chosen?

After August 15, 2009, when all the entries have been received the panel will review the entries and make selections of the winners.

How do you provide proof that the charity nominated is a 501 (C) (3) charity?

You can check on www2.guidestar.org/ to find charities that are recognized with this tax exempt status.

What are the criteria for a charity to be considered?

The charity must be focused on feeding people and qualified under the IRS section 501 (C) (3) tax exempt status.

How will the chosen charities be presented with the donation?

Feed Our Friends will be issuing a check directly to the organization as a grant.

Will a list of the chosen charities be published?

Yes, by visiting www.Brighton.com after September 30, 2009.
