By having a team and families who are
passionate about the cause of providing clean water to Kenyan
communities, Mission Viejo's Store Manger, Lynn Bauchiero, led her
Partners to achieve the goal of being the Brighton Collectibles
store to raise the most money in the charity effort. Today, as the
representative for her prize-winning store, she's in Kenya, where
the first well is being drilled.
A journey of thousands of miles starts with a single step... and, on
the first day of the Kazuri Jewelry promotion - when Sales Partner
Monique stepped into the store along with her children Michael and
Taylor, the effort to raise money to build freshwater wells in Kenya
started off on the right foot.
She had her children watch the DVD
showing how children and adults in Kenya and other developing
nations are suffering from |

serious and all-too-often fatal diseases
due to the lack of clean water, and the kids decided they had to
help. On the first Saturday, they set up a lemonade stand and the
$150 they raised got them excited. They kept coming back and
throughout the month, raised another $1500. Their enthusiasm for
saving the lives of people became contagious - inspiring other
people to come into the Brighton store and donate to the cause. (One
passer-by donated $1000!)
Day after day during the 1-month Kazuri Jewelry promotion, Lynn
cheered on her entire team and they all sold lots of Kazuri
Jewelry... knowing that each $20 they raised would give fresh water to
one person for 20 years. When the doors of the store were closed,
Partners reached out to their families and friends to raise more
funds. Lynn had a dinner in her home and passionately urged people
to donate more dollars to build wells. As she stands there this week
watching the well being drilled that will give the people of the
Kibera community in Kenya the opportunity to lead healthy lives, how
proud Lynn must be - of her store team, their families and the
company she works for... filled with people who care for each other and
care about helping others. |
