How Low Can You Go...
Digging 1000 Feet For Something More Precious Than Gold- Water!

Kibera, near Nairobi, is Kenya's largest slum and has one of the nation's greatest needs of clean water. This lifesaving resource is not accessible even to the area's hospitals- where people go to be treated for water-borne diseases such as malaria, typhoid and cholera.

To make a difference in this impoverished community, Brighton has partnered with charity: water to build a freshwater well to supply clean water to a hospital and its surrounding population. In Kibera, the aquifers are much farther underground than they are elsewhere, so the well will be 1000 ft. deep - equal to the height of a 100-story building or the length of over 3 football fields!

Living Water, International - the non-profit company that is drilling the well - specializes in drilling high-capacity wells in rural areas. To date, they have completed nearly 6,000 water projects, providing clean water to nearly 8 million people.

Our Kibera project has shown that "it takes a village" is a true statement when it comes to building a well. By combining vision, passion, donations and technological support, we can all make the dream of providing clean water for everyone a reality.
